Junior High School

In partnership with Shoin Junior High School, SMIS-English will continue the Saturday School programme at Shoin Junior High School- with the programme now accepting boys. The SIMS-English/Shoin Junior High School Saturday School programme lets Jr High School students with advanced English skills continue their English education in an English immersion setting developed specifically for Junior High School students.

The SMIS-English/Shoin Junior High School Saturday School is a comprehensive programme with a holistic approach to English education.  The programme is practical skills based with students using the SDG’s to learn reading, writing, research and presentation skills in English.  All classes are taught by qualified and highly experienced native teachers who have a passion for English education. As a high level of English is required for the SMIS-English/Shoin Saturday School programme a placement test is required before entering.

For parents looking for an outstanding junior high school education that has a strong focus on English and global awareness, SMIS-English recommends the Shoin Junior High School Global Stream Programme. Students in this programme receive much more intensive English education, with the Junior High School Saturday School a part of the curriculum.
