SMIS-English is pleased to continue and expand the extension of our popular Saturday School programme. From April 2021SMIS-English, in partnership with Shoin Girls’ Junior High School, will continue the girls only Saturday School programme at Shoin Girls’ Junior High School. This programme will allow girls with advanced English skills in the first and second grades of Junior High School to continue their English education in an English immersion setting developed specifically for Junior High School students.
The SMIS-English/Shoin Girls’ Junior High School Saturday School is a comprehensive programme with a wholistic approach to English education. The programme has two English Literacy classes to develop reading, writing, vocabulary and comprehension skills, a Research and Writing class to develop advanced writing skills and Projects, which teaches English through art. All classes are taught by highly qualified and experienced native teachers who have a passionate for English education. As a high level of English is required for the SMIS-English/Shoin Saturday School programme a placement test is required. Classes are limited to twenty students, and interest is high, so early application is encouraged.
